• Fall 2009 Retired AD Golf Outing Registration

Retired IADA Members,

I hope 2009 has been going well for you and that your "RETIREMENT" days are fulfilled the way you wish them to be, whether it is truly retired or you have started another career working at something you thoroughly enjoy.

The 50-50 raffle was very successful. We sold out!!! We generated $990 for the IADA. I would like to thank all who helped with the ticket sales. A "Special" Thank You goes out to Phil Svetich, Terry McCombs, Al Albrecht and Rich Montgomery for a job well done.

At the Spring Conference, I was elected to serve as the Retired Athletic Directors Liaison on the IADA Board of Directors. It is my intention to improve communication between and among both the existing active membership and those of us who are retired. Many years ago, Larry Weber had the idea that if there were retired Athletic Directors on each of the subcommittees at the State Conference, it would provide an historical perspective of why we do things the way we do and possibly prevent problems from occurring as well. The Board of Directors then agreed to allow retried Athletic Directors to be active contributors to any and all of the conference subcommittees. So, if you would like to help on any of the committees please let me know ASAP. They are as follows:

We are coming up on our 3RD Annual Retired Athletic Directors Golf Outing (or Those Who Wish They Were Retired AD Golf Outing). This event will be held on Monday, October 12th, starting at 9:30 AM at the Weaver Ridge Country Club, in Peoria, IL. I have enclosed a registration form for this event. We have negotiated a GREAT deal - $30 for a round of golf including a cart. We have committed to them that we will buy our lunch from their menu when we finish (that is partly the reason we received such a great deal). Please check your calendar and make plans to attend. We want to see as many Retired Athletic Directors as possible.

I will continue to work on our mailing list and send updates to Royal Publishing. If you get the time, please take a look at the Retired Athletic Directors list � I would like e-mail addresses for everyone. If any of you know the correct street address and/or e-mail address of any one who is listed or not listed, I would appreciate an e-mail with any necessary additions or corrections that need to be made � the internet is easier, faster and cheaper.
