IADA Hall of Fame

Emery was involved at the original Athletic Directors Association meeting in 1965. Emery is created with being the author of the Illinois Athletic Directors Association Constitution. He served as the Vice President the first two years of the organization. Emery came to Proviso East in August 1957, succeeding Dr. Leslie Emery as Directors of Athletics. For ten years prior to that he had been head football coach and instructor of physical education at Elgin High School. In all, Emery completed thirty-six years of service to the youth of Illinois, including teaching physical education, health and was athletic director at Marengo High School from 1941-1947. He also served as athletic officer and captain of a tank destroyer in the U.S. Army from 1942-1946.
