IADA Hall of Fame
Frank served as the athletic administrator at Downers Grove South for eighteen years (1969-1987). Frank was a hands on administrator becoming involved at the local, state and national level. Frank is credited with bringing the National Athletic Directors Convention to Chicago in 1987. His organization for the event involved athletic directors from all parts of the state and remains a source of pride in IADA history. Frank served the IHSA as a member of its Wrestling Advisory Committee and is credited with developing the opening ceremony we now see at the State Wrestling Finals. While at Downers Grove, he hosted Boys and Girls State Swimming Finals for the IHSA. He served on the NIAAA Board of Directors here he was a respected voice. He encouraged other Illinois Athletic Directors to become involved at the National level by serving on committees, writing articles and showing strength and professionalism of our state association. He was a member of our IADA Executive Board from 1978-1987. He held numerous options: treasure, conference chairman, district representative, and he was our president during the 1983-1984 school year. His involvement at the state and national leveled earned him numerous honors. NCSSAD Midwest Athletic Directors of the Year in 1986, IADA Outstanding Athletic Director of the Year in 1986, National Federation Citation in 1985 and the NIAAA Distinguished Service Award in 1980 to name a few. "Frank is one of those rare individuals that brings dedication, hard work, and a positive attitude to his job every do. Frank always finds the good in people, and does everything in his power help people round him find success'" states district 99 Assistant Superintendent James Freese. "One are in which Frank influenced me was with one of his important phrases; "Reciprocal Dignity'" This meant that I was to treat other how I wanted to be treated'" states Downers Grove South Coach Paul Runyon. Finaly from Dick Fraiz, Downers Grove South Guidance Counselor, "His work ethic was phenomenal and effected the entire staff. He was very conscientious about his work and showed an extreme interest and concern for getting the total job done."
